Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar has once again proven that when it comes to Minnesota State Fair food, they’re in a league of their own. In 2024, the iconic vendor raked in $4.9 million across just three stands, easily securing the number one spot for highest-grossing food vendor. That’s more than double the second-place finisher, Pronto Pups, which earned $2.3 million from eight stands.
A Comeback to Near-Record Levels
Sweet Martha’s is inching close to its pre-pandemic glory. Their current record of $5 million in 2019 still stands, but the 2024 results show they’re nearly back to full strength. Fair officials attribute the resurgence to increased attendance, with last year marking the best turnout since before COVID-19 and breaking five daily records.
The Million-Dollar Club
Sweet Martha’s isn’t the only vendor seeing success. Several others cracked the $1 million mark last year:
-
Mouth Trap Cheese Curds – $1.6M (one site)
-
The Perfect Pickle – $1.5M (two sites)
-
Fresh French Fries – $1.4M (two sites)
-
American Dairy Association of the Midwest – $1.4M (two sites)
-
Corn Roast – $1.3M (one site)
-
Que Viet – $1M (one site)
These numbers show the enduring popularity of Minnesota’s fair food culture — from cheesy curds to sweet pickles.
The 2025 Fair Is Coming
The Minnesota State Fair kicks off August 21, and the big question is whether Sweet Martha’s can reclaim their $5 million record or even set a new one. With attendance trending upward, it’s a real possibility.
Whether you’re a die-hard cookie fan, a Pronto Pup devotee, or someone who can’t leave without roasted corn, there’s no denying the Great Minnesota Get-Together is as much about the food as it is about the rides and music.
