What Is Prince Celebration 2026?

Minnesota is marking a once-in-a-decade milestone this week.

Ten years after the passing of Prince, the Twin Cities is hosting Prince Celebration 2026, a five-day tribute running June 2nd through June 7th across multiple venues in Minneapolis and Chanhassen.

The event draws visitors from across the country and internationally, and represents one of the most significant cultural gatherings the state has seen in years.

Ticket options include:

  • single-day passes
  • general admission multi-day packages
  • full VIP tiers at the Gold and Platinum levels

Each includes different access and programming.

Shuttle service runs between downtown Minneapolis and Paisley Park in Chanhassen throughout the weekend, making it straightforward to move between venues.

The Full Lineup, Day by Day

The week opens Wednesday, June 3rd at First Avenue in Minneapolis with the official kickoff party, featuring a special appearance from Chaka Khan alongside a DJ set from DJ Lenka Paris.

Thursday, June 4th moves to Royalston Square for a live conversation with legendary bassist Bootsy Collins and a 40th anniversary screening of Under the Cherry Moon.

Paisley Park in Chanhassen is also open all day Thursday for tours and open house access.

Friday, June 5th is the most packed day of the week.

Morning panels at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis feature separate intimate conversations with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and with Morris Day, both sharing personal memories from their time working closely with Prince.

Friday evening, the main concert at The Armory brings Morris Day, Miguel, Tevin Campbell, Bilal, and Kat Graham to the stage alongside members of NPG and The Revolution.

Saturday, June 6th centers on:

  • a block party at the Prince Mural in downtown Minneapolis from 2:00 to 10:00pm
  • a Prince Sing-Along

Paisley Park remains open for tours, and Maya McClean, a former NPG member, leads a sound healing and spiritual experience on the Soundstage as a $7 add-on ticket.

Sunday, June 7th closes the celebration with:

  • a brunch and gospel concert in the Paisley Park courtyard
  • an exclusive unreleased music listening session inside the Soundstage
  • Prince in Concert footage screenings

A Lake Minnetonka boat cruise is available as an add-on ticket for Sunday, departing from Excelsior.

Why This Week Matters for the Twin Cities

Events of this scale do more than honor a legacy.

They activate neighborhoods from Chanhassen to the North Loop, draw hospitality and tourism dollars into the metro, and remind locals and newcomers alike why the Twin Cities holds a singular place in American music and cultural history.

Chanhassen, home to Paisley Park, sits in the southwest suburbs of the metro and continues to serve as a destination for fans traveling from every corner of the globe.

For anyone living in or considering a move to the Twin Cities, this is the kind of week that reflects what makes this metro so distinct.

There is simply no other market in the country where a moment like this is part of the local calendar.
