MeatEater Is Opening Its Third-Ever Retail Store in Edina, Minnesota
MeatEater, one of the most recognized names in the outdoor sports world, is bringing its retail operation to the Twin Cities.
The Bozeman, Montana-based company announced it will open a store at 3924 50th Street in Edina's 50th and France neighborhood in August 2026, making it only the third MeatEater retail location in existence.
What MeatEater Is and Why This Is a Big Deal
Most people in the outdoor community already know MeatEater from its podcasts, YouTube videos, articles, and recipes built around hunting, fishing, and conservation.
What fewer people realize is that the brand has been quietly building a retail and commerce operation since 2019, when it acquired First Lite, a technical hunting apparel line.
By January 2025, the company had reached a $100 million valuation according to Fast Company.
Their first physical store opened in Bozeman in April 2024.
A second location near Milwaukee followed in September 2025.
The Edina store is next, and the Twin Cities market was not chosen by accident.
What the Edina Store Will Actually Offer
The location will carry MeatEater-branded products along with items from the company's portfolio, including First Lite technical hunting apparel, FHF Gear outdoor accessories, Phelps Game Calls, and Dave Smith Decoys.
The store is being positioned as more than a retail transaction, with plans for conservation-focused programming, gear demonstrations, educational experiences, and in-person appearances from MeatEater personalities.
Founder and Chief Creative Officer Steven Rinella addressed the Minnesota choice directly in the announcement, saying the state's outdoor heritage was built by hunters and anglers who showed up for wildlife and habitat when it mattered.
He wants the Edina store to be part of that ongoing conversation.
What It Means for the Twin Cities Community
The 50th and France corridor in Edina is one of the most established and trafficked retail areas in the Twin Cities.
National brands do not select that location casually.
The decision reflects growing national recognition of Minnesota's outdoor culture and the buying power of the Twin Cities outdoor community.
For neighborhoods like Edina, Woodbury, Stillwater, and the broader east metro, where access to lakes, trails, and hunting land is part of everyday life, a destination retail and community hub like this adds real value to the local lifestyle story.
Grand opening details and seasonal programming will be available through MeatEater's Instagram as August approaches.
