Main Event Opens in Woodbury, MN on August 3 Near Topgolf
Woodbury is adding a major entertainment destination this summer. Main Event, a 48,000 square foot complex, opens August 3rd right next to Topgolf near the I-94 and I-494/694 interchange. It's the brand's very first location in Minnesota, and it lands squarely in the heart of the Twin Cities east metro.
A NEW ENTERTAINMENT ANCHOR FOR WOODBURY
Main Event originally targeted a late 2025 opening, so plenty of locals have been watching this site take shape. General manager Michael Frisby called the Woodbury debut a huge milestone as the company plants its first footprint in the state.
Sitting beside Topgolf, which opened its 68,000 square foot Woodbury facility late last October, Main Event helps turn this stretch of the east metro into a real entertainment corridor. Two large venues right next to each other give families and groups a reason to make a full day or evening of it.
WHAT'S INSIDE MAIN EVENT
The complex is packed with things to do. You'll find state-of-the-art bowling, an arcade with more than 100 games, laser tag, and virtual reality experiences.
There's also a full-service restaurant. The menu leans playful, with items like the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich, an Overloaded Cheese Pizza, and Funnel Cake Fries, along with drinks such as the Cotton Candy Shirley Temple and a Margarita Flight.
The venue specializes in celebrations, including birthdays, corporate events, and anniversaries, so it's set up to host groups of nearly any size.
WHY IT MATTERS FOR THE EAST METRO
For Woodbury and the surrounding communities, this is more than just another place to eat. It's a year-round, weather-proof option for families in Cottage Grove, Lake Elmo, Afton, and Stillwater who are always hunting for something to do when Minnesota weather doesn't cooperate.
New destinations like this also tend to draw shoppers and diners to the surrounding area, which supports nearby businesses. As the east metro continues to grow, amenities like Main Event and Topgolf are part of what makes Woodbury an appealing place to put down roots.
