Clubhouse Edina Is More Than Doubling Its Space, and the West Metro Could Be Next

Clubhouse Edina Is More Than Doubling Its Space, and the West Metro Could Be Next

A coworking concept that pairs private offices with golf simulators is one of those ideas that sounds like it shouldn't work until you realize it already has for three years. Clubhouse Edina, based in the Titus Building at 6550 York Ave. S. in Edina, just announced it's expanding from 5,100 square feet to roughly 12,000 square feet, with a move-in target of November 1st.

What's Changing at Clubhouse Edina

The expansion moves the club from its current first-floor suite to the sixth floor of the same building.

Private offices are growing from 4 units to 22, conference rooms are doubling from one to two, and the overall footprint is more than doubling.

The two Trackman golf simulators that anchor the social side of the club are staying in place.

Edina-based Sherburne Slater is the general contractor on the buildout.

Memberships range from under $500 a month for flexible desk access to $995 a month for a dedicated private office.

The club currently serves around 46 members and also hosts corporate events, happy hours, and watch parties.

The Story Behind the Concept

Founder Zack Bowen came up with the idea during the pandemic.

Burned out from working at home with a full household around him, he started working out of a friend's office and noticed people gravitating toward country club lounges when they needed a place to focus.

He saw an opening to build that environment from scratch, and Clubhouse Edina was the result.

"I just got excited to go to work every day," Bowen said.

The club was co-founded with his father, Robert Bowen, and now has four total owners including operating partner Chase Peterson and Justin LaMettry, part of the family behind LaMettry's Collision.

What This Means for the West Metro

The expanded Edina location isn't just about growth for its own sake.

Bowen has said the move is a test of whether the model can scale.

If the new footprint performs well, he's eyeing additional west metro locations in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Wayzata.

No sites have been identified yet, but the framework is clearly in place.

For anyone tracking Twin Cities business growth or thinking about the commercial side of the west metro real estate market, this is a concept worth watching.

Flexible workspace demand has stayed strong in the suburbs post-pandemic, and Clubhouse Edina's model, pairing productivity with a social hook, is a smart take on what today's suburban professional actually wants from a workplace.
