Breezy Point Resort Unveils Ace Valley, a New Era of Minnesota Destination Golf

Breezy Point Resort Announces Ace Valley : A New Short Course and Clubhouse Coming to the Brainerd Lakes Area

A Major Investment in Minnesota Golf

What Makes Ace Valley Different

How This Expansion Impacts the Brainerd Lakes Region

Why Minnesotans Should Pay Attention

Breezy Point Resort is taking a bold step forward with its newly announced Ace Valley project, an eight to ten million dollar development centered on a twelve hole par three course. This expansion adds a modern and social golf experience to a resort that already carries major name recognition in Minnesota. Located in the Brainerd Lakes area, Breezy Point has offered lodging and recreation since the 1920s, growing over the decades into one of northern Minnesota’s most recognizable vacation destinations.

Ace Valley is designed for golfers who want something different from a traditional five hour round. The course will allow groups of up to six players, offer tee times as late as nine, and include full lighting for night golf. Hole distances will range from six yards to two hundred yards. The resort also plans a putting course and a three story clubhouse. The clubhouse will include three bars, a full service restaurant, a basement speakeasy, and a rooftop deck overlooking the course. One standout feature is the tee box for hole five, located on the second level of the building so guests can watch players hit from above. Another is a bonus thirteenth island hole streamed live inside the clubhouse, complete with prizes for players who score a hole in one.

Breezy Point hired Andy Staples of Staples Golf Design to lead the project. His work focuses on designing short courses that are visually interesting and easy to play. The site’s natural elevation and sandy soil make it ideal for creative shaping and drainage, which helps with playability. This approach matches a national trend. Short courses have surged in popularity as more golfers look for approachable and time friendly options.

This move also solidifies Breezy Point’s long standing status in the Minnesota golf landscape. The resort is home to three eighteen hole courses, including Deacon’s Lodge, the Arnold Palmer designed layout that Golfweek consistently ranks among the top public courses in the United States. Ace Valley adds a new angle to the resort’s offerings by giving families, groups, and casual players a lighter option that still delivers architectural interest.

For the Brainerd Lakes region, the expansion signals continued investment in tourism and recreation. Resorts are competing for visitors seeking memorable experiences, and Ace Valley brings new energy to the area. Minnesotans who love golf, weekends up north, or family friendly outdoor activities will likely see Ace Valley emerge as a must visit spot after its planned 2027 opening.
