328 Grill Moving to Hastings with Major Expansion
A Local Favorite Outgrows Its Original Space
328 Grill, a burger-focused restaurant that built a strong following inside the St. Paul Park American Legion, is making a major move to Hastings, Minnesota. The restaurant will take over the former Me & Julio location, marking a big step forward for the growing east metro food scene.
After five years of building its brand, the ownership decided to keep the 328 Grill name, even though it originated from the Legion’s address. That decision shows confidence in the recognition they’ve built across communities like Cottage Grove, Woodbury, and Hastings.
Bigger Space, Bigger Vision
The new Hastings location offers a significant upgrade. The restaurant will feature 125 indoor seats and nearly 100 additional seats on a patio that includes a firepit and outdoor bar.
This kind of setup shifts the business from a smaller, community-based kitchen into a full destination restaurant. It opens the door for more group dining, events, and extended stays, especially during Minnesota’s warmer months.
Expanded Menu and Entertainment
While 328 Grill plans to keep its popular burger lineup, the new space allows for menu expansion. Guests can expect additional sandwiches, salads, and even some pasta options.
Beyond food, the restaurant is leaning into entertainment. Plans include pull tabs, bingo nights, meat raffles, live music, and a traditional Friday fish fry. These additions position the restaurant as more than just a dining spot. It becomes part of the local social scene.
Meanwhile, the St. Paul Park Legion location will transition to a new concept, with Whiskey Creek BBQ taking over the kitchen.
What This Means for the East Metro
This move highlights continued growth in the east metro, particularly in cities like Hastings and Woodbury. As more restaurants expand or relocate into larger spaces, it reflects increasing demand for local dining options that offer both food and experience.
For homeowners and buyers, this type of development matters. Restaurants, entertainment, and community gathering spots all contribute to neighborhood appeal and long-term property value.
If you’re watching the Hastings or Cottage Grove areas, this is another signal of momentum.
