Madison’s Place Playground
4125 Radio Drive
Woodbury, MN 55125
Madison’s Place Playground is located on the south side of the Bielenberg Sports Center field house. The new 16,000-square-foot playground offers sun & shade covered play decks, swings, zip lines, sensory play equipment, ramps for wheelchair access, rubberized flooring and much more! It is the Twin Cities’ East Metro’s first completely handicapped accessible, “inclusive playground” where children with and without disabilities can play together side by side to foster friendships, understanding, and acceptance.
Madison’s Place Playground has already become my kid’s favorite park in Woodbury. The new park has a bit of everything and it is a great place to meet new and old friends. When the kids get overheated they cool off at the adjacent splash pad. The playground has indoor accessible bathrooms and water fountains. There are paved trails that lead to the park so one can walk, run, or bike. There is also a large parking lot if you choose to drive.
Madison’s Place became a reality out of one family’s dream to greatly enhance their community and create a legacy for their daughter. David and Dana Millington lost their 2-year-old daughter Madison Clair to complications from spinal muscular atrophy in 2004 and were seeking ways to help other families struggling with the disease. Since its inception, the Madison Clair Foundation has relied heavily on both corporate and individual donors to support the Madison’s Place Project goal of raising $830,000 for the playground. Now come out see Woodbury’s newest and best playground. I hope to see you out here.
