New York Based Bathhouse Plans Major Wellness Club In Minneapolis
What Is Coming To The North Loop
Bathhouse, a social wellness club with locations in New York, has announced plans for a forty five thousand square foot facility in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. The three story building will include three indoor pools with varying temperatures, multiple saunas including one of the largest in the region, steam rooms, massage services, food and beverage options, and a heated rooftop pool designed to stay open during colder months. The site is located on North Third Street near Herschel Lofts, right in the core of the neighborhood.
Why Minneapolis Was Chosen
Bathhouse leadership says Minneapolis stood out because of its strong fitness culture, dense restaurant scene, and year round lifestyle activity. The concept is built around contrast therapy, alternating between hot and cold environments, but done in a social and energetic setting rather than a quiet spa. The company believes the North Loop offers the right mix of residents, visitors, and walkability to support that experience.
The Developer Behind The Project
The project is being developed with Swervo Development Corp., a Minneapolis based firm known for high profile projects including the Minneapolis Armory and Mystic Lake Amphitheater. Their involvement signals confidence in the scale and long term impact of the development. City design approvals are still ahead, but the timeline targets an opening in the first half of twenty twenty seven.
Why This Matters For The Twin Cities
This project reflects a broader trend of national lifestyle brands expanding into Minneapolis and the Twin Cities. Wellness focused developments like this add year round amenities that appeal to both residents and visitors. For the North Loop, it reinforces the neighborhood’s evolution beyond dining and nightlife into health, recovery, and daily living experiences. As more people prioritize wellness and community spaces, projects like this help shape how neighborhoods grow and stay relevant.
