Midwestern Survivor Is Casting: Minnesota Contestants Wanted for ‘Survivor: Midwestern Mayhem’
If you’ve ever dreamed of competing on Survivor, there’s a new twist made just for us Midwesterners — and it’s looking for Minnesotans to join.
A Homegrown Version of Survivor, Born in Wisconsin
The Midwestern Survivor began as a friendly, weekend competition among friends. Creator Blake Ball gathered 16 people at his grandpa’s cabin in Arkdale, Wisconsin, for a three-day challenge inspired by the hit reality series. It was such a success that the event grew into a recurring regional competition that now attracts contestants from across the Midwest.
Season 8: Survivor: Midwestern Mayhem
This year’s edition — Survivor: Midwestern Mayhem — runs January 8–11, 2026, at Hungry World Farms in Tiskilwa, Illinois. For the first time, contestants will represent their home states, with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana all battling for bragging rights. Iowa, Missouri, and Ohio could join, too, if enough people apply.
How to Apply and What to Expect
Applications are open now through December 15th, 2025. If you’re selected, there’s a $100–$200 entry fee, depending on cast size, and the winner will take home at least $500. Participants will stay in glamping-style heated tents, so while the challenges may test your endurance, you won’t be completely roughing it in the Illinois winter.
