If you've been watching the construction off Highway 169 in Shakopee and wondering when it was finally going to open, the answer is now.
Mystic Lake Amphitheater is Minnesota's first large-scale outdoor amphitheater, and at 19,000 capacity, it's the largest outdoor venue in the state.
And one of the first major shows on the calendar is a big one.
mgk Headlines the Lost Americana Tour on June 22nd
On Monday June 22, 2026, mgk brings the Lost Americana Tour to Mystic Lake Amp with showtime set for 7 PM.
Wiz Khalifa and Mod Sun are both on the bill as supporting acts, making this one of the strongest opening-season lineups the new venue could have asked for.
The show is part of mgk's national headlining tour in support of his 2025 album, Lost Americana.
Tickets are available now and can be grabbed at the link here:
What Makes Mystic Lake Amp Worth the Drive
The venue is located at 700 Canterbury Road in Shakopee, roughly 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis via Highway 169.
It was developed by Swervo Development Corp and is operated by Live Nation.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which owns the nearby Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, purchased the naming rights.
What sets this venue apart is the design.
Despite holding up to 19,000 people, the facility was built to feel intimate.
A covered lower bowl protects fans from Minnesota's unpredictable weather, clear sightlines mean there really isn't a bad seat in the house, and the open lawn section offers sweeping views of the Minnesota River Valley.
On-site parking is available, and a complimentary shuttle runs from Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, about five miles south.
For context on the scale, 19,000 capacity puts this venue in the same range as Target Center and Xcel Energy Center, both of which are indoor arenas.
This is something the Twin Cities outdoor music scene has never had before.
Why This Matters for Shakopee and the Broader Metro
Beyond the concerts, the economic footprint of this venue is significant.
Live Nation estimates the amphitheater will contribute approximately $138 million in annual economic impact to the local economy and create more than 700 jobs in the region.
The venue also sits next to Canterbury Park and within the growing Shakopee Social District, which means the surrounding area is developing quickly around it.
For anyone watching the Shakopee real estate market or Scott County in general, this kind of infrastructure investment is exactly the type of anchor that draws attention and activity to a community.
