Sota Shop, the buzzy dirty soda brand that’s taken the Twin Cities by storm, is opening its third location this June in St. Louis Park. Known for its nostalgic, 90s-themed drinks like “Stacy’s Mom” (cherry, vanilla, cream, and Dr. Pepper), Sota Shop blends soft drinks or sparkling water with syrups, creams, and fruit flavors for a unique twist Gen Z can’t get enough of.
The new location will be at the Shops at West End, taking over the former Nautical Bowls space at 5327 W. 16th St. Founder Chad Taylor, who brought the Utah-rooted dirty soda trend to Minnesota two years ago, said the brand’s fast growth is thanks to smart expansion near schools, fun branding, and social media virality.
Operating out of a food truck just a year ago, Sota Shop now has a strong following—especially among Gen Z females and Gen X moms. The company cranks out a drink every 18 seconds during peak hours in Maple Grove and expects similar excitement in St. Louis Park.
With another location coming to Edina’s Southdale Center in July, Sota Shop is proving the dirty soda trend isn’t going flat any time soon. The shop is also exploring future locations while focusing on a better customer experience—bigger lobbies, faster service, and eventually, drive-thru access.
